Artists in Residence

12-23 December 2023: Jochen Heckmann

Showcase

23.12.2022

On 22 December 2022, Jochen Heckmann gave insights into the research work after his two-week residency. First dance ideas were presented in a collage-like form. His solo deals with the questions surrounding the topic of growing older and how he deals with these changes as a dancer. This was followed by an audience discussion with Caroline Finn, Judith Kuckart, Angelika Ächter and Corneliu Ganea. A video of the performance at the Aargauer Kunsthaus will follow shortly.

Research

13.12.2022

After 10 years of abstinence from the stage and a choreographic sabbatical since 2016, it is time for dancer and choreographer Jochen Heckmann to start a new chapter. He is using the residency to research his solo project. For him, dance is something existential, true and unique. When he dances, he dives into his innermost being, illuminates shallows there, comes across things he thought were lost, unravels the unexpected. These particles pave their way and push to the surface, which he can hardly resist.
