During the residency, Alex Kros developed two solos for the two dancers Luna Ananda and Valentina Di Lullo, which ultimately came together to create one performance. The starting point was the focus on the 'spiral', never-ending turns, as a choreographic element. By 2023, Alex Kros would like to expand the choreography to include four more dancers/solos.

Dancers Luna Ananda and Valentina Di Lullo presented a 15-minute performance that they developed during the residency with choreographer Alex Kros and assistant Natasa Frantzi. This was followed by a discussion to offer deeper insights into Alex Kros' research work.

On Friday, 23 September, choreographer Alexander Kros and dancers Luna Ananda and Valentina Di Lullo will be giving an insight into their creative work. You will also have the opportunity to talk to the artists after the performance.

Choreographer Alex Kros rehearses with Luna Ananda, Valentina Di Lullo and Natasa Frantzi at the Residenzzentrum tanz+. They explore the limits of the human body and try to answer questions about everyday life from the perspective of a dancer. Why do we dance? Why do we train every day? Why do we endure so much physical pain? These questions are often asked, and is never satisfactory. This research will attempt to reflect two fundamental themes: Desire and fulfilment.

Alex Kros (Kyriakoulis) is an awarded choreographer, director and interdisciplinary artist based in Belgium. Born in Athens, his choreographic work is based on an abstract way to translate and use classical ballet forms. His creations are characterised by the versatility, fluidity, sharpness and the no ending motions. Alex Kros is staying in our residency together with Luna Ananda, Valentina Di Lullo and Natasa Frantzi.
